Christmas Carols by Candlelight at St John’s Waterloo: A Festive Evening for a Good Cause
Coin Street and St John's Waterloo warmly invite you to Christmas Carols by Candlelight on Sunday, 15 December, a magical evening filled with festive music and community spirit. Join us at the beautifully renovated St John’s Church, SE1 8TY, to celebrate the season with traditional carols and stunning choral performances.
Doors open at 4:30pm, and the service begins at 5:00pm.
To book your place and for further details click here. The Carol Service is free, and we suggest a donation of £10/head to support good causes.
This year, proceeds will support two impactful local initiatives:
St John’s Room For You, which combats isolation by offering English language classes, art sessions, counselling, and community meals.
Coin Street’s Warm Hubs, which provide older adults with coffee mornings, movie nights, singing groups, and a welcoming environment filled with friendship and refreshments.
The evening will feature performances by St John’s Church Choir, Coin Street Community Singers, and Take Note Singers, delivering a heartwarming repertoire of Christmas favourites. Attendees are encouraged to join in the carolling and revel in the festive atmosphere.
After the service, enjoy a selection of holiday treats, including mince pies and mulled wine, along with festive stalls to complete the experience.
While admission is free, we suggest a donation of £10 per adult to support these important community projects. Reserve your place today on Eventbrite, and please give generously.
Reverend Giles Goddard, Vicar at St John’s Waterloo, shared:
“Christmas is a time of hope, joy, and giving. I’m delighted to welcome everyone to St John’s to sing, celebrate, and support two vital causes making a difference in our community.”
Natalie Bell, Head of Youth and Community Programmes at Coin Street, added:
“We’re thrilled to partner with St John’s for this special evening of carols and connection. Together, we’re raising funds for projects that truly enhance people’s lives. I look forward to seeing families, friends, and neighbours join in the festive fun.”
Come together with your community to celebrate the season and make a positive impact. Christmas Carols by Candlelight promises an unforgettable evening of joy, generosity, and togetherness at St John’s Waterloo.
